Tech Group Puerto Rico Adds 24 New Injection Molding Machines

Cayey, Puerto Rico - - Tech Group Puerto Rico has plans to add 24 new injection molding machines by the end of June.

Of the 24 presses being installed, twenty-one are electric molding machines by Milacron ranging in tonnage 55T - 330T. 120T, 175T and 300T presses from Netstal have already been installed. A majority of these machines will be replacing older presses.

According to Bill Gerard, Managing Director of Tech Group Puerto Rico, the primary factor that attributed to the investment is Tech Group's commitment to reinvesting in technology to support customer needs and control costs.

"We have committed to four million dollars in machinery, one million dollars in automation and robotics and an additional one million in facility improvements and expansion," states Mike Treadaway, Vice President of Operations, Tech Group Americas.

Tech Group Puerto Rico is currently 63,000 square feet, but will be expanding to 65,500 square feet.

Tech Group Puerto Rico joined The Tech Group in 1990 and currently employs 175 people.
